GEMJO MerchantOS is a shop ledger you speak to. This page is maintained by the GEMJO team and explains what we collect, why we keep it, and how you can get it back or delete it.
What we collect
Your sign-in details (email or phone number), your shop profile, and the records you create: sales, debts, customers, stock and payments. We also store basic technical data such as app version and error reports so we can fix faults.
Voice recordings
When you tap the microphone, the clip is sent to a speech service so it can be turned into text. The text is saved with your entry. Clips are used to improve recognition for your own voice and language; you can turn voice off in Audio settings and keep typing instead.
How we use your data
To run your ledger, show your reports, sync your phone when it comes back online, and keep your account secure. We also use anonymous, grouped figures — never your shop by name — to show market price ranges, and only if you have switched that sharing on.
Who we share it with
Our hosting, database, speech and messaging providers process data on our behalf under contract. We do not sell your data. We share it with anyone else only when you ask us to (for example a Financial Passport link you send to a lender) or when the law requires it.
How long we keep it
Your shop records stay until you delete them or close your account. When you close an account we delete or anonymise your records within 30 days, except where we must keep a copy to meet a legal obligation.
Your choices
You can download all of your data from More → Download my data, see everyone who has opened your book on the 'Who has seen your book' screen, revoke shared links at any time, and use the 'Request your data' page below to ask for a copy of your data, a correction, or deletion of your account.
Children
GEMJO is a business tool and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle your data we will update this page and show a notice in the app before the change takes effect.
